LearnChineseFromMovies (LCFM) is a fast-tracking learning program is not taught in any Chinese language learning product, it’s not taught in any Chinese language learning book/CD/DVD, and it’s not taught in any university by any Chinese professor, teacher, or tutor.
This new Chinese-learning program coupled with “secrets” to jump-start your Chinese level is perfect for ANY person who is interested in learning Chinese, who do not want to focus on “grammar rules”. This is a program that learns Chinese FOR you.
The result: Your ability to read most of a Chinese newspaper (over 1700 Chinese characters) and hold a conversation in a matter of 4 months or less.
Learning Languages from movies is the most powerful and fastest way to learn a language. Many excellent non-native English speakers who have never been abroad learned their English from American movies (with English subtitles). Therefore, it makes sense that we can do the same thing – but with Chinese movies with “magical” LCFM subtitles.
These “magic subtitles” are included in the movie “Spring in a Small Town” and a whole Chinese learning program is based around it. It’s known as “The Greatest Chinese Film Ever Made”. It takes place after the war and it’s a story about a woman with a love dilemma. You follow Yuwen on her emotional rollercoaster ride as she must choose between an old childhood flame – a successful doctor from Shanghai – and her now-decrepit husband.
So what are these “magical” LCFM subtitles? How are they helpful? LCFM includes 15 subtitle choices: mix and match Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Pinyin, Word-for-Word (WFW) English (direct translation), and English. The program is designed so that after you’ve watched the movie a few times you can “take off your training wheels” and just watch the movie with Chinese subtitles. In the beginning, however, you probably will want to watch the movie with Pinyin and combine it with another choice (WFW, English, etc).
Here is an example from a line in the movie:
我得改变生活 Chinese Subtitle Choice (1)
wǒ děi gǎibiàn shēnghuó Pinyin Subtitle Choice (2)
I need to-change life. WFW Subtitle Choice (3)
I need to change my life. English Native Speaker Subtitle Choice (4)
You can mix and match any of the above subtitle choice to suit your learning needs. So, if you need Pinyin and WFW, choose those and they will appear on the screen instantly and will be displayed for every line of the movie to come. If you want Pinyin, WFW, and English – then choose those, etc, etc. There are over 15 mix and match combinations – suitable for any Chinese learner.
Let’s break down each mix and match option:
Simplified Chinese Subtitle Choice (1): Used in mainland China, around 1 billion people use these characters to read Chinese. Once you watch the movie a few times and, with the help of the LCFM Learning Guide, you will also be able to read these. But at the beginning, you will probably want to choose…
Pinyin Subtitle Choice (2): Pinyin is the Romanization of Chinese and tells you how to pronounce Chinese by using the English alphabet. For example, 你好 (hello) is nǐhǎo in Pinyin. This subtitle choice is key – no other Chinese movies have it…except this one*. Instead of having Chinese subtitles (which most people can not read), you can easily read these subtitles as you watch the movie. But what does each Pinyin word mean? That why the program also has…
WFW Subtitle Choice (3): This saves you hours of time. You do not need to use a dictionary to search for individual words. It’s a direct translation from Chinese to English.
English Native Speaker Subtitle Choice (4): This is the way a native English speak would say this line in English.
Traditional Subtitle Choice: (not included in the example above). You also have the option to include this subtitle choice. Traditional Chinese is used in places like Taiwan and Hong Kong.
The program includes two DVDs: One containing the movie and its magic 15 removable and mix-and-matchable subtitle choices. The second DVD containing loads of bonuses, guides, tools, transcripts, and charts including:
- · Atranscriptthat includes the entire dialog of the movie (in the “Magic” subtitles format – Chinese, Pinyin, WFW, English), broken down by scene (25 scenes, 83 minutes total).
- Vocabulary list (if you’re one of those people who like vocab lists) of every word used in the movie, broken down by scene. So, when you finish, say, Scene 1you can see in an instantall the words you need to know.
- Bonus Flashcard Package: Flashcards for every Chinese character used in the movie, broken down by Scene (25 Scenes total)
- Bonus LearnChineseFromMovies (LCFM) “On-the-Go Video Package” – which is basically the whole DVD movie with Magic subtitles in video formats that can be played in any portable device (cell phone, iPhone/iPod, etc, etc)
- Bonus 3-month study guide program that will get you reading most of a Chinese newspaper in no time.
- Bonus secret Chinese character remembering method that instantly reveals the mystery of why each Chinese character is written the way it is. This method alone will skyrocket your Chinese, transforming these “lines and squiggles” into meaningful, easy-to-remember pictures and ideas.
- · Bonus dictionary that can be installed on any cell phone – no matter how old or crappy your phone is. The dictionary contains over 80,000 Chinese words and phrases.
Learning from movies is indeed the most powerful and fastest way to learn a language. Learning Chinese in this way is no exception. Give it a try! http://www.learn-chinese-from-movies.com/
